W-O-W. One month from today–to the date–is graduation. I can’t believe it.

I appreciate the comments I have recieved on standardised tests recently. I still have a hard time with them sometimes, though. So it’s nice for me to read that excerpt from the book again.
As you may have guessed (or already known), I took the “Essay-T” (SAT) on Saturday last. It was tolerable. 10 fairly short tests. Still a long morning.
But part of what made it better, more tolerable, and gave me something to look forward to was going to the Midieval Fair afterwards and meeting up with some friends there. Yay! That was a lot of fun! I will try to sum up the highlights of the Fair.
Some friends — R__, A__, and E__ — and I met at the fair, and we decided we wanted to see the Jousting, but since we had some time before it started, we looked at some booths and got drinks. We stopped by a taco stand looking for one of our classmates working there, but didn’t see her, so we meandered on. We got stopped by a lady who was selling metal roses that had a scent that they’re supposed to keep for a year. R__ liked them and got one.
The Jousting is always fun. There’s a guy that gets things going, educating the audience. When you want to respond in the affirmative, you say (or shout) “Aye!”. Whe you want to respond in the negative, you say (again, or shout) “Nay!”. When someone says “Good day!” to you, you respond with “Good day!”. And so on he went. Each side was to cheer for one of the knights (we got the good guy, of course), and that pretty much raps that part up. Sir Timothy and Sir John got on their horses, jousted, Tim got beat on, they got off (or in Tim’s case, sort of fell off) their horses and went at it with swords and shields. I was glad neither of them had forgotten their armor this year.
After the Joust, we meandered back a bit. I wanted to get my face painted, but it didn’t happen. We saw Irish dancing being performed. I was hooked; I wanted to see that. Fortunately the people I was with were patient and let me watch for awhile. I could have watched all day, but figured the others didn’t really want to. So after a little while, we moved on.
Next we went to a booth that was selling knee-high two-colors striped socks. The socks are why we went, but I got a fan there. It’s one of the kind that you open and close. It’s black sort of netting, with a multi-colored chinese dragon. (I could be wrong, but that’s what it looks like to my uneducated eye.) It was really fun. Unfortunately, now it has a hole in it. Mom’s gonna try to patch it up, and I’ll hang it on my wall. And I want to get another fan that I can play with without tearing up.
I was supposed to meet my brother at Kidspace at 4. I took so long deciding which fan to buy, that I had to go straight there after I got the fan. Fortunatly, we weren’t really late, and it was pretty easy to see my over-six-foot-tall brother looking for me. He had a small party of RUF people (nice folk). A__ and E__ decided to leave, but R__ stayed as this new, and slightly larger in number, group meandered through some booths. We were headed to see Hamlet!
Hamlet was a great finale for me. It was performed by kids, and summed up in about 15 minutes. There were a few kids who narrated, reading from a book, and all the actors had memorized their lines. It was very enjoyable and impressive. And they queen had a great death scene!
After that, my brother and I walked R__ to her family, and headed home ourselves. Over all, it was a really good day.
