Colorado!

This is the first post I ever posted, and although it was on a xanga, I thought I’d share about my colorado trip in case you didn’t see this before. This was written shortly after we got home from colorado back in august.

Wow! Well Colorado is cool/ (literally especially when compared to Oklahoma!) We saw alot this week, both on the drive and in Colorado. In Colorado (ask me if your interested in the drive) we had a nice little place in an old motor court. Two rooms, three beds, small but nice bathroom, and it included a table and four chairs, kitchen sink, frig/freezer, stove, heater, several windows, small patio with chairs, and get this: medium large TV with VCR and DVD player built in!! Too bad we didn’t bring any DVDs/ (not that we would’ve watched ‘em) Anyway, it was a nice place. The bathroom sink had two faucets, one for hot, one for cold. Old style. It was cool (although just a little hard to use).

The main things we saw (in order) were: Tuesday, Garden of the Gods; Wednesday, Pike’s Peak and Miramont Castle; Thursday, the Pueblo Cliff Dwellings, and Seven Falls. Garden of the Gods is interesting, and fun, but it was hot when we went there. Pike’s Peak is really cool (again, literally)! It was cold on top (partly due to the wind). But the view was worth it. We went up and down on the Cog Railway. Very cool, very fun, and I think a good way to go (unless you like driving on mountains). Unfortunately we only got 40 minutes on top (including unloading and loading). Still, it was neat. The view, incredible. Pa said he saw a slight curvature of the world on the far horizon. Miramont Castle is okay. Museums aren’t much my thing, and the smell inside gave me a headache (and I was still recovering from my mountaintop headache). On the upside, they had lots of dollhouses on the lowest floor. hehe. The Pueblo dwellings are really cool! They let you climb all over in and on them/ And they had several plants there that were labeled and signs that said what they were used for. Seven Falls was our finale. We went in the afternoon and stayed until after sunset. Pa and I climbed the stairs that are next to Seven Falls!! That is a long way up! And the view in the caƱon is great! Pa fed some fish in the stream. It was fun. Two of them jumped for food next to each other at the same time! And there was Indian dancing. When it started getting dark, they lit up Seven Falls. That was neater than I originally thought it would be. It was pretty/

Something about Manitou Springs (where we stayed and right next to Colorado Springs) that I noticed, sunset is earlier there than here because the sun goes behind the mountains instead of all the way down to the horizon! That was a little weird. The mountains are gorgeous. I think I have allergies to something there though because my throat tightened up a bit when we were there. It’s still not back to normal, but I expect it will be soon. And as you can guess, we stopped at several gift shops and bought souvenirs. Nice ones. And we took tons of pictures/ I kept running out of film! It was a great vacation!!! I don’t think I’d want to live there though. I saw some landscape on the drive home that I think might be nice to live on.

Anyways, that’s my Colorado trip that we’ve been wanting to take for a couple years now. It was great!!

  1. Great to hear all the good news going around! And to see my name in lights! ;-)

Just wanted to let you know, I won’t be blogging for awhile. That means all reading, writing, commenting, and polls. To quote Bilbo, “I have things to do. I’m going away… Goodbye.”

  10. I don’t believe you know either one. I told you when they got engaged, and you didn’t know them then. So I suppose you do know of them.
