Let’s Take it Back
Happy Holidays!
That’s going around alot lately, deliberately avoiding “Merry Christmas”. So, non-Christians want to avoid Christ and take Him out of Christmas. That’s not new, but lets not let them. Take a little closer look at the word holiday, itself.
“Holi” is often used for “Holy” when a suffix is added to “Holy” to make a new word (change the y to i and add your ending, remember?). For instance, “holiness”. So, what would Holiday be? Holy Day. What makes it Holy? The Christ Child.
So, in the future (the near future, mind you), you might consider saying “Happy Holy Day!”, especially when someone says “Happy holidays” to you.

Good point.
